This is an interesting first issue, featuring a different type of monster--a detective who calls himself The Ghoul. It begins with an LA cop named Klimpt waiting to pick him up at a secluded airport. When he exits the plane he's surprised because the guy is huge, nearly double his own height. Sort of like The Hulk, only deathly white and wearing a big trench coat. In fact, Klimpt has rented a uhaul truck to drive the guy about since there's no way he can fit into the passenger seat of a car. The Ghoul is called in when there's an "unusual" case that warrants his expertise. In this case it's a family of women, The Atwood women, who have all looked exactly the same age since the 1930's. Which suggest that this is about a vampire.
This is as entertaining as Nile's/Wrightson's previous collaboration, DEAD, SHE SAID. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.
