This is an extremely ambitious period exploitation movie from the director of THE BLOODY APE, Keith J. Crocker. The movie could not be more different than that simian tale. The story starts in 1955, in Argentina, where a Nazi named Helmut Schultz is tracked down by a duo of women Israeli agents who want him to pay for his crimes. The overweight German guy manages to shoot them both and escapes outside, where he defeats two other agents. He seeks refuge in a church and recalls to the priest what happened at the POW camp he ran in Germany, in 1945. Back then he has it good and does whatever he wants. For example, he tries to create an ape-man, the ultimate killing machine, because he always wanted to be a scientist. He also does some horrible experiments on some captured girls. Meanwhile, the prisoners plan to mount an escape.
This movie is definitely a throw-back to exploitation flicks like ILSA: SHE WOLF OF THE SS. I wouldn't say it's an enjoyable movie but it's definitely not boring. There's plenty of depravity, gore and naked chicks. My only gripe is that the ultimate fate of Nazi Helmut Schultz did not pay off--and the movie ends with his demise.
